The Bumblebear selected by BookTrust for their “Time to Read” programme

We are delighted to hear that 700,000 copies of Nadia Shireen’s hilarious The Bumblebear will soon be buzzing their way to young readers across the country!

There’s a new bee at Bee School. But that bee is not a bee … it’s a bear!

BookTrust has selected this wonderfully funny picture book for their Time to Read programme, which will give a copy of The Bumblebear to every reception-age child in England this Autumn.

This is what Nadia had to say about the programme:

I am so happy and honoured that BookTrust have selected The Bumblebear for their excellent Time to Read campaign. Booktrust is fantastic at turning kids into readers and, crucially, they reach those kids who can’t access books so easily. I hope reading about Norman’s adventures at Bee School raises a chuckle or two, but mainly I’m delighted that so many children will be forced to own one of my books – whether they like it or not!
