Originally from Yorkshire, Sarah is a largely self taught illustrator with a long standing love of books and reading. After studying an English degree at Lancaster University she did many jobs including books dealer’s assistant, exhibition guide, charity shop manager and theatre administrator.
After having drawn hardly anything for a very long time, a few years ago she enrolled on an art access course and has been drawing lots of things ever since, and has a particular love of the spooky, dark and fantastical. She was nominated for the Kelpies Illustration Prize in 2019, and lives in Edinburgh with her family and too many animals.
Among her favourite things are cheese, trees, vampires and art supply shops, and is currently obsessed with anything Scandinavian.
