Bethany Christou graduated from Cambridge School of Art with a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Illustration. In her final year she wrote and illustrated a picture book, Slow Samson, which was ‘highly commended’ for the Macmillan Prize 2016.
Ever since she was little, Bethany has always loved drawing, reading and writing stories. She has a love of creating characters with personality and stories to tell. She works both digitally and with traditional gouache paint and often combines the two processes.
Bethany lives in rural countryside in Hertfordshire, where she’s constantly inspired by the wildlife and scenery surrounding her, as well as the many animal visitors in the garden.
Her debut picture book, Slow Samson was published in the UK by Templar in 2019.
