Debut from hosts of ‘Things You Can’t Ask Yer Mum’ podcast has sold to Kyle

We are thrilled to announce that Lauren Gardner has sold world English language rights for the debut book from the hosts of the “Things You Can’t Ask Yer Mum” podcast, Lindsey Holland and Lizzy Hadfield, to Judith Hannam at Kyle Books, part of the Octopus Publishing Group!

Named after the podcast, the book Things You Can’t Ask Yer Mum will publish in May this year.

Heartbreak, grief, falling in love, falling out of love, friendships, disastrous sex anecdotes - this book is filled with everything you don’t want to ask your mum.

The duo behind the chart-topping podcast Things You Can’t Ask Yer Mum take a deep-dive into the ups and downs of life. Lizzy and Lindsey share the twists and turns of their own experiences in their usual hilariously honest style, offering reassurance on all the questions you just might be too afraid to ask.

The book embodies what Lindsey and Lizzy have had through their friendship: the ability to honestly pass on their own experiences in life in order to help the other. With never-heard-before anecdotes and bite-sized chunks of content to return to, this valuable book will be a friend to you - one that shares reassuring stories of losing virginity using a blueberry flavoured condom, losing friends and losing inhibitions. It is a book for anyone, at any stage of life.

Hannam said: “I’m thrilled to be publishing the accompanying book to Lindsey and Lizzie’s hugely successful podcast ‘Things You Can’t Ask Yer Mum’. Funny, wise and compassionate – as well jaw-droppingly frank – it works because it’s an authentic conversation between true friends. The book is destined to become a trusted companion for any woman who has ever loved, lost, been lonely (or done something they’ve regretted the next morning!).”

The authors commented: “We are so excited that our friendship has led to not just a podcast we love, but now onto a book. To take all the advice we have given to one another over the years of being best friends and share it with other like-minded women is such an honour. Above all else, we are so grateful for our online community who made this possible, and for looking to us for advice through all the trials and tribulations of life.”
