DK Life editorial director Cara Armstrong has leapt for a guide to midlife fitness from personal trainer and influencer Caroline Idiens.
Armstrong snared world rights to Fit at 50: Your Guide to a Stronger, Fitter and Happier (Mid) Life in Just 6 Weeks from Lauren Gardner at Bell Lomax Moreton. The book is scheduled for a March 2025 release under DK RED, the lifestyle imprint launched in June as part of the publisher’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
Idiens is a Berkshire-based 51-year-old personal trainer and mother of two whose home-based strength training routines found a huge audience on Instagram during lockdowns.
DK said Idiens is "on a mission to show that midlife can be the best time in a woman’s life". Fit at 50 will feature strength-based and high-intensity workouts, accompanied by 60 nutritionally balanced recipes and sample meal plans. It also "aims to help readers find balance in their lives by optimising the four fundamental pillars of health: sleep, exercise, mental health and diet".
Idiens said: "Staying fit and keeping strong can be an overwhelming concept for many, especially as we get older. My goal has been to show women how you can feel fitter and more confident in midlife than ever before and to share the huge benefits of strength for longevity."
Armstrong called Idiens a "refreshing new voice in the wellness space", adding: "Caroline has motivated and inspired women across the world to embrace exercise in the midlife with refreshingly achievable workouts and proven results. With never before seen recipes, this is the very first time she is sharing her 360-degree health plan."
