Clare Fennell

Having left university with an illustration degree, Clare worked as a designer and studio manager in the greetings card industry for fifteen years. After which she decided to follow her lifelong ambition to illustrate children’s books. Clare set to work creating her own studio filled with picture books, cats, cushions, pencils, paint and a gazillion scraps of paper.

Clare now works from her dream studio in Leicestershire, where she can also be found daydreaming, listening to loud tunes, and drinking too much coffee. In her work, Clare uses a mix of collage and digital techniques, she loves pattern, texture, typography and is always collecting things to use in her artwork.

Clare has now has illustrated over 40 books including The Christmas sElfie which featured as the CBeebies bedtime story for Xmas Day 2018.
