Leo is an illustrator with a lifelong passion for creative wordplay, animals and visual humour. He started his illustration career as a cartoonist for broadcast television before achieving a masters degree in visual communication and moving on to become a children’s illustrator, a picture book author and Lecturer in Graphic Design at The University of Derby.

Leo has illustrated for a number of publishing houses, as well as for advertising agencies and marketing companies. He most recently illustrated The Goat Cafe (Faber & Faber/ 2019), written by Francesca Simon.

Leo is married to Michelle and together they have two daughters, Kate and Meg. They also have two sons! Fred (a thoughtful Springador) and Otis (a Chipoo mix, who looks a bit like a giant fruit bat). They live in the middle of the UK.
