Freya Bromley is a writer, wild swimmer, and podcaster. She’s twenty-seven, lives in South London (just a short cycle from Brockwell Lido) and works at Apple. Her album reviews have been published by Apple Music, MTV and The Huffington Post. Freya’s been longlisted for Penguin’s Write Now 2020 and Highly Commended for TLC’s Pen Factor 2021. She’s currently studying on the Creative Writing Master of Studies at Cambridge University and has received mentorship from bestselling author Cathy Rentzenbrink.
The Tidal Year, Freya’s debut book publishing with Cornet Books in April 2023, is a true story about the healing power of wild swimming and the space it creates for reflection, rewilding and hope. An exploration of grief in the modern age, it’s also a tale of loss, love, female rage and—above all else—sisterhood. Fans of Sorrow & Bliss will love this timely millennial take on The Outrun.
