We’re excited to announce that Icon Books have snapped up Adrift by young nature writer Helen Babbs! Told in Helen’s unique voice, Adrift offers readers a portrait of London’s navigable waterways over the course of a year, from deep winter to early autumn, from east to west.
Written by a boater living full time within the landscape described, Adrift is an intimate piece of first person, narrative non-fiction describing a unique and colourful world, where the urban and the wild couple in a litter strewn stewpot of life.
A former BBC radio journalist, more recently Helen has focused on print, writing arts and environment features for many different publications including the Guardian, Telegraph, New Statesman and Time Out.
Adrift is due for publication in Autumn 2015.
