Claudia Boldt

Claudia Boldt’s work features recognisable bold layouts and a muted colour palette, which is complimented by engaging characters and narratives. She loves to write and illustrate fun and slightly absurd comedies for children, which are equally entertaining for adults.

She attended Glasgow’s School of Art and then Kingston University, graduating with her Masters in Illustration in 2007. The same year she founded Cloud Cuckoo Studio with fellow illustrator Katharina Koall in London’s East End.

Claudia’s work has been exhibited in London, Zurich and Berlin and has been selected to show at the illustrators’ exhibition in Bologna. In 2011 she was awarded the Booktrust Best New Illustrators Award in the UK.

Claudia’s work includes the picture books Outfoxed (2016) and The Mystery of the Missing Cake (2017), and also the illustrations for the art activity book Think and Make like an Artist (2017), all published by Tate. In 2018 she illustrated the picture book Lots of Frogs, written by Howard Calvert and published by Hodder Children’s Books and additionally wrote and illustrated Brothers Forever, published by Penguin.
