DD Everest is a successful journalist and author who has written a number of adult non-fiction books.
Archie Greene and the Magician’s Secret is his first book for children, published in Sept 2014 by Faber & Faber. But for those who know him well, it will come as no surprise. Anyone who has visited him and his partner at their rambling Victorian house on the Ashdown Forest in Sussex will have noticed children bursting from every room. Two of them are actually theirs. And then there are cousins; the junior football team he manages; and the teenage rock band that rehearses in his attic.
Archie Greene and the Magician’s Secret was shortlisted for the National Book Awards 2014 and has currently sold in 16 territories. The next book in this magical series was published in June 2016 followed by a third and final instalment in June 2017, Archie Green And The And The Raven’s Spell.
Reviews for Archie Greene;
‘When a mysterious parcel arrives on his birthday, complete with some very special instructions, Archie Greene has no idea of the family secret he is about to uncover. Prepare to wonder at the Museum of Magical Miscellany in Archie Greene and the Magician’s Secret.’
