Building on the amazing booksKaty Birchall has already written like The It Girl series and The Hotel Royale, and her on-going creative collaborator role on Alesha Dixon’s best-selling Lightning Girl and recently announced Star Switch series’ , Katy has her own brand-new magical series with Scholastic.
Lauren Gardner has sold Morgan Charmley: Teen Witch to Lauren Fortune, editorial director at Scholastic, in a two-book deal. The first book will be released this September, followed by the second in September 2020.
Descrbed as ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch for a new generation’, the book follows Morgan Charmley, who attends a normal school for the first time at thirteen, after trying to prove she has control over her witch powers. Charmley must keep her powers a secret as she tries to fit in with non-magical teenagers.
Birchall said: “I’m absolutely thrilled that Morgan Charmley has found such a wonderful home with Lauren and the talented team at Scholastic. Working with them on Alesha Dixon’s Lightning Girl and Star Switch books has been an absolute dream and I’m so excited to publish Morgan’s magical adventures with them.”
