Sophie worked in advertising and design before studying for an Illustration & Animation BA at Kingston University. Her final project, The Lonely Giant was awarded Highly Commended in the Macmillan Prize.
The Lonely Giant was published by Walker Books and Candlewick Press in the US in 2016.
Her latest book, Bedtime for Albie, is published by Walker Books in September 2019 and Candlewick Press in 2020.
Sophie loves going out and about with her sketchbook and capturing the quirkiness of everyday life. Observing real-life around her, inspires her to develop new characters and stories.
Sophie lives in London with her husband and two children. Her latest character Albie, a cheeky little warthog, was inspired by the antics of Fred, the equally cheeky family dog!
