Sophy Henn is an author/illustrator with several beautiful picture book titles already under her belt. Her debut Where Bear? was published in 2014, and was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal and shortlisted for the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize in the illustrated book category. Where Bear? was followed in 2015 by the irresistible Pom Pom series; Pom Pom gets the Grumps and Pom Pom the Champion. In 2016 Sophy brought us Pass it On, a joyful and uplifting tale about finding happiness in the smallest of things, and the third book in the Pom Pom series; Pom Pom is Super, both published by Puffin Books.
Sophy has studied at Camberwell and Central Saint Martins, and is a graduate of the MA in Sequential Illustration at the University of Brighton. She was the World Book Day Illustrator for 2015 & 2016. 2017 saw the publication of the beautiful picture book, Edie (Puffin), and an exciting board book series for very young readers featuring a terrific new character called Ted (Bloomsbury).
In 2018, Sophy published a picture book out called Almost Anything (Puffin), as well as Bad Nana: Older Not Wiser, the first book in her new fiction series for ages 6 and above, published by HarperCollins Children’s Books. Later in 2018, Sophy published Lifesize and the new year brought Lifesize: Dinosaurs, both with Egmont. So far in 2019 Sophy has seen the publication of Jump Around with Ted (Bloomsbury) Super Duper You (Puffin) and two sequels to the Bad Nana series, Bad Nana: All the Fun of the Fair and Bad Nana: That’s Snow Business! published in May and October respectively by HarperCollins Children’s Books.
In August 2020 the first of Sophy’s brand new fiction series Pizzazz, an illustrated series about a reluctant girl- superhero, was published by Simon & Schuster, followed by more in the series and The Runaways, a picture book in 2021, also from S&S.
Most recently, her picture book All Kinds Of Families published with Egmont in September 2020.
