Jessica is an illustrator and author of children’s books. She particularly loves to draw children, and attempts to capture their quirky behavior and fidgety movement and harness it into characters for her books. She is particularly inspired by her own two daughters who surprise her every day with their individuality and unique understanding of their world.
Jessica has previously published several picture books and early readers. These books were created digitally but in recent years she found herself wanting to return to the drawing board and develop herself as an artist, so she enrolled on the MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Anglia Ruskin, graduating in 2017. There she rediscovered her love of painting and drawing with watercolour, crayon, pencil and ink and bringing her observation of life into her new picture book ideas.
Since then Jessica has illustrated One Special Day: A Story for Big Brothers and Sisters by Lola M. Schaefer and two books in the Lucy McGee series by Mary Amato. Jessica is the author illustrator for own her book What Clara Saw which was published by Macmillan in April 2019.
