NJ Barker

Agent: Jo Bell

NJ Barker first started writing books when he was eight, but he took his time before completing his first thriller some forty years later. He studied Pure Mathematics (truly a branch of the arts) at Warwick University and law at The College of Law before building a career in personal tax.

In 2019 he retired to focus on his passion. As it turned out, this wasn’t maths (surprised?) or tax (shocked?) but writing fiction.

He is a graduate of the Faber Academy and is drawn to stories where people are forced to follow someone else’s rules or face the consequences.

His short story, The Catastrophe Test, is an introduction to both his writing and the star of that story, Kennedy Logan. He has recently published The Moral Authority, the first full-length Kennedy Logan thriller, and is currently writing book two. He has also just published his full-length debut thriller, The Honesty Index. NJ Barker is working hard on writing more standalone thrillers.

He lives in Kent together with his wife, son and their two cocker spaniels.
