Atlas of Animal Adventures wins at the Edward Stanford Travel Writing awards!

We are chirping, roaring and buzzing with glee to see that Atlas of Animal Adventures, illustrated by Lucy Letherland and written by Rachel Williams and Emily Hawkins, has won the National Book Tokens Children’s Travel Book of the Year category in the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards! The Children’s Travel Book of the Year is awarded to a “fiction or non-fiction title for pre-teens which inspires a love of travel, exploration and adventure,” and we are thrilled that this gorgeous, globe-trotting treat of animal antics has been picked as the winner. Published by Wide Eyed Editions, Atlas of Animal Adventures is a stunning insight into the adventures of animals across the globe, from fungus-farming ants in Bolivia to roosting fruit bats in Zambia and parading peacocks in India, and we wish a hearty congratulations to Lucy, Rachel, Emily and all at Wide Eyed. Here's what Tony Maher MD of Edward Stanford Ltd had to say about the awards:

These disparate shortlists have one unifying feature – they are all marvellous examples of what travel writing and publishing does best, which is to show the reader a world far from our own doorsteps, made reachable by these glorious, powerful and unforgettable books.
