Life is Magic Shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize

Hurrah! We are super proud that Meg McLaren's debut picture book Life is Magic has been shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize (illustrated category).

Monsieur Lapin is a magician extraordinaire, known everywhere for his astonishing magic tricks, particularly those involving rabbits. When Monsieur Lapin decides to take on an assistant, he can’t believe his luck when he finds Houdini the rabbit. Not only does Houdini love magic, but he’s also got a few tricks up his sleeve for organising the theatre and managing all the other rabbits. Together they are the perfect double act until one day the magic goes awry…
Here's what James Daunt, MD of Waterstones, had to say about all the fabulous books shortlisted in categories covering illustrated books, younger readers and older readers:
These are wonderful books of great power and imagination. They show children’s publishing to be as inventive and inspiring as ever, and to have a pointed relevance that seems never more important in the shaping of ideas and attitudes.
We are wishing a big congratulations to Meg, Monsieur Lapin, Houdini, and all at Andersen Press, and best of luck to all the books shortlisted! You can buy your very own copy of Life is Magic here ...
