Tijana`s paintings and illustrations are inspired by the magical and metaphysical realms, they contain traces of folklore, fairy tale, and mythology. In her work, she tries to share her observations of the ever-changing seasons and her will to be more in tune with nature and the Wheel of the Year.
Painting is her profession but also a therapy where she explores her inner mind and tries to bring up those deep-down buried thoughts into the light of her paper. Tijana is facing her fears, illuminating her unconscious mind, and walking through the forest of her childhood memories. She is on a journey to understand this complex universe of worlds inside and outside of us.
Tijana lives with her husband and daughter in the small medieval city of Ghent in Belgium. She has earned MFA in both painting and drawing. Tijana loves to read and collect books but she never has enough shelves to put them on, as such, they are often scattered all around her home. Her favourite writer is Haruki Murakami and she loves to read Carl Jung as well.
