We're so excited to see that Once Upon An Alphabet, the stunning new picture book by Oliver Jeffers, has debuted this week at No.3 on the New York Times Children's Best Seller List!  Not only that, but The Day The Crayons Quit is still flying high at No.2 on the list (we wonder what the Hueys would have to say about this amazing numerical news?)!

If words make up the stories and letters make up the words, then stories are made up of letters. In this menagerie we have stories made of words, made FOR all the letters.

This inventive and irresistible picture book spans a mere 26 letters and 112 pages, all the way from A through Z. Slyly funny and gorgeously illustrated, this series of interconnected stories and characters explores the alphabet in a way that will forever raise the bar. And if you'd like to find out why the Astronaut is afraid of heights or how the Cup came to be stuck in the cupboard, you may just want to head to The Southbank Centre next weekend (1st-2nd November)... To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of How to Catch a Star, Oliver will be talking to visitors about the way that he works, what inspires him and giving you tips about making your own picture books. You will also have the chance to hear all about Once Upon an Alphabet and will be able to buy your own signed copy. Over the course of the weekend there will also be a screening of Lost and Found, an 'In Conversation' event with Oliver and special guest Sir Quentin Blake and The Great Draw Off, where Oliver will be challenging some of his fellow illustrators to the ultimate 'sketch off'.
